Press Release

BigMachines Named Cool Technology by AMR Research

Independent Research Firm Selects BigMachines as Best-of-Breed for Configuration, Quoting and Proposal Solution

Chicago, IL and Frankfurt, Germany - August 25, 2009 - BigMachines, Inc., the leading provider of on-demand configuration and proposal software, announced today that the company has been selected as one of AMR Research's Cool Technologies as noted in the AMR Research Article dated July 2009 titled, "Cool Technologies for the Industrial Value Network." AMR Research provides subscription analysis services to executives in the consumer products, life sciences, manufacturing and retail sectors. In the article, AMR Research analyst Jane Barrett identified products that offer "a new angle on solving an industry problem."

The report states that "the need for integrated sales and manufacturing configuration capabilities increases as companies differentiate themselves through customized products and solutions." It recommends BigMachines as a "best-of-breed" vendor, using "visualization in the quotation and configuration process." It further explains that BigMachines is used to "quickly generate a professional proposal, helping reduce the cycle time from opportunity to quote. While less-mature companies see the need for a sales configurator merely as a means to get a quote out from and an order into the system, the more mature see this end-to-end opportunity to cash process as a means to drive revenue growth and new markets."

"BigMachines is honored that AMR Research has identified us as a Cool Technology for the second year in a row," said Godard Abel, CEO and co-founder of BigMachines. "Being recognized for this achievement underscores our ability to provide innovative new SaaS-based solutions to organizations across multiple vertical markets, empowering their sales teams to consistently deliver superior service and increased ROI."

BigMachines will showcase its innovation and customer focus at BigIdeas 2009, the company's annual customer and industry forum that will be held October 4-6, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois. Industry experts, BigMachines customers, and business partners gather at BigIdeas to discuss innovative business strategies and best practices in guided selling and product configuration to increase revenues, improve sales efficiency, and reduce costs. Bruce Richardson, Chief Research Officer, AMR Research, will deliver the keynote address at BigIdeas. Conference sponsors include Oracle, Astadia, EDL Consulting, salesforce.com and Xactly.
